Samsung Note 8, iPhone 8 and Nokia 8-The Battle of 8s

The battle of the smartest phones – Samsung Note 8, iPhone 8 and Nokia 8 – is firing up as all the three major phones’ releases toeing closer by the day. Samsung has announced and hinted at a new phone going to be revealed at the Samsung Unpacked event at Park Avenue Armory in New York City, which convincingly looks like the Galaxy Note 8. The event will take place on the 23rd of August, 2017, and can be viewed at www.samsung.com.

HMD Global is also set to launch Nokia 8 only a week earlier on August 16 in its press event at London. Nokia 8, the first major Android release from Nokia, is being considered the flagship, and not Nokia 9. The following image was procured from Slashleaks.

Then we have the new iPhone’s rumored September launch also around the corner, which is so far, the most hyped smartphone of the year.

‘Note vs iPhone’ is quite a battle on paper. iPhone 8’s design is being rumored to sport a bezel-less full front display while the illustration posted by Samsung on their newsroom website clearly depicts a very similar design for Note 8.

Here are the rumored specs head to head for these smartphones.

In addition to these, Note 8 and iPhone 8 will come with Samsung Pay and Apple Pay respectively. Both the phones are at the edge of competition as per the rumors. Samsung Galaxy S8 with its infinity display is also somewhere in the same game.

There’s no doubt about the performance capabilities of these flagships as they are already loaded with the best in-class features. Note 8, however, is regarded as a phablet and sports the S Pen which is missing in the iPhone. On the other hand, iPhone might feature a fingerprint sensor embedded into the display itself, rendering its design a great functionality.

Nokia 8

Nokia 8 doesn’t seem like a strategy to compete with Note 8 or iPhone 8 but it sure will come with its own set of top-notch goodies. The highest variants will carry a 6 GB RAM with Snapdragon 835 and a 5.3-inch quad HD display. Two 13 MP dual rear cameras and a 13 MP front camera will be things to watch out for. The only things setting it back will be the missing wireless charge feature and a screen with lower resolution which bring the price down as well.

Owing to the brand’s reputation of making high-quality handsets, Nokia 8 might give competition to the iPhone 8 and Note 8. The phone will be priced at around $692 (44,408 INR) which is pretty less than the other two. Being backed by Carl Zeiss optics, the first android flagship from Nokia might surprise us with an unexpected turn of tables.

So here we are in the eighth month of this year with three devices carrying an 8 against their names, all set to take the smartphone market by a storm. Which one are you supporting? Let us know in comments!
